New publishing label “Hachamecha Bunko” started — first title is a work of literary fiction
Hacha Mecha Co. Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) today announced its entry into the publishing business with the creation of an original imprint, “Hachamecha BUNKO.”
“Hachamecha Bunko” will go beyond conventional print publication, expanding each story world through illustrations, music, video and other expressive media to deliver an unprecedented emotional experience to readers.
As its inaugural release, the label will publish “The Authenticity of Sorrow” (Kanashimi no Shingan), an early short work of literary fiction by Shitosagi (🐦 @Shitosagi). The ebook is available on the Kindle platform.
Set in a suburban town outside Osaka, the story quietly explores “the limits of empathy” and “the shareability of grief” through the eyes of young people from diverse cultural backgrounds—asking whether feelings can truly transcend language.
To celebrate the launch, the ebook will be offered for ¥99 until May 7 2025 (JST).
